MID-TERM NEWSLETTER

Our Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the middle of the first term. In the first half of this term we had many activities on ground.  It has been joyful and eventful time for the children and we too, have enjoyed seeing your children thrive. Being in line with our theme for this session, “Happiness lies in the joy of achievement”, we want to share our joy with you and give you a brief report on the past activities.

Independence Day

On the 29th of September, 2017 Maximus School was celebrating 57th anniversary of Independence of our Motherland, Nigeria. Each level was representing major Nigerian tribes – Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba. It was fun and beautiful event.

World Teachers’ Day

On the 5th of October, 2017 the teachers around the world were celebrated and appreciated. Since we are global learners, this event did not bypass our teachers. Maximus students showed how they value and respect their teachers.

Elections of the school prefects

Students in Maximus are future leaders. That is why we are training them to be good leaders even in this early age. On the 27th of October, 2017 elections with the open ballot took place on the playground of our school. As the result of the elections, Dara Ayeni became a Head boy and Tomiwa Ogunleye became a Head girl, Labake Adegbite – Assistant Head girl, Chibuikem Nwachukwu – Assistant Head boy, Simbiat Abati – Assembly prefect.

Mid-term examination

On the 23rd of October, our pupils started their middle of the term examinations. It’s very important part of continuous assessment that helps to evaluate the achievements of each child. All pupils tried their very best to get high scores.

Swearing in ceremony for school prefects

After the elections on the 27th of October, our elected leaders – Head boy, Head girl, Assistant Head boy, Assistant Head girl and Assembly prefect swore to all Maximus students, in the presence of their parents and teachers, to serve them faithfully and without partiality, to be good leaders in everything and to encourage everyone to do right things.

 

SCHOOL FEES

We want to remind you that those parents, who have their outstanding, please pay up on time.

MIDTERM ASSIGNMENT

Pupils are given midterm assignments to keep them busy during the break. Please ensure they study and complete them before resumption.

NO CASH IN SCHOOL                                

Please be reminded as a matter of discipline that no child is permitted to bring money to school for any reason otherwise he or she will be punished and the cash seized.

GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK

On the 16th of November the students from KG2 to Grade 5 will go for an ocean visit. The consent forms will be provided for the parents. Please read the form carefully and fill it on time.

THANKSGIVING DAY

On Friday, 24th of November, 2017 Maximus School will celebrate Thanksgiving Day. The students are to come with their parents and other family members. The celebration will be in a form of a family picnic. You will have to bring your child(ren)’s lunch to school and eat it together. Please bring your cutleries and plates in order to make yourself comfortable. More detailed will be communicated to you closer to the date. Dress code: suit/waist coat/white shirt with red bow tie and black trousers (for boys), a dress (or gown) (not ankara or lace) and shoes (for girls). Please prepare the proper cloths in advance.

END OF THE YEAR PARTY/CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Maximus School will celebrate Christmas on Saturday, 16th of December, 2017. Children are to come with their parents and other family members. Dress code: green top and jeans. More details will be communicated to you closer to the date.

 END OF THE YEAR SCHOOL EXAMINATION

The end of the term school exams will be 4th – 8th of December, 2017. Vacations will start on the 18th of December, 2017.

 

We are very grateful to all of you for your support during this part of the term. We pray all your labour and your endeavor will not be in vain.

 

The School resumes on the 6th of November, 2017! Have a good mid-term break!
